Another client wins the lottery!

February 7, 2018.

Our client held a winning ticket in the $10 Million Dollar Gold game in the Massachusetts lottery. We set up a special trust linked to the complex estate plan that we prepared to protect privacy, minimize taxes and give the client maximum flexibility for managing new wealth.

Nancy Weissman as Chair of Section

BOSTON, Massachusetts.  June 28, 2017. 

The Massachusetts Bar Association today appointed Attorney Nancy Weissman of Lexington, Massachusetts to chair the Real Estate Law Section Council of over 1500 members.  The Council serves the legal community and the public in real estate matters including buying, selling, leasing residential and commercial properties, condominium conversions and management, zoning and environmental matters, legislation, case law and trends in the real estate industry.

Attorney Weissman named Cambridge Budget Delegate

CAMBRIDGE, Massachusetts.  October 1, 2015.

Attorney Weissman has been named Budget Delegate and leader of the sustainability projects in Participatory Budgeting for the City of Cambridge.  Participatory Budgeting solicits local input on allocation of $600,000.00 of public funds to improve the City of Cambridge.

We represent buyers, sellers, lenders, and condo associations. We act as lender's counsel for mortgage purchases and refinancing transactions.  We advise condominiums on trustee appointments, budgets, condo fees, and general condo management.  We handle title clearing and title issues involving estates, missing interests, missing discharges, and title insurance claims.  We are title insurance agents for several title insurance companies.

Wills and Trusts

Estate planning including the preparation and administration of wills, revocable trusts, irrevocable trusts, health care proxies, durable powers of attorney, irrevocable life insurance trusts (ILITs) and related instruments for smooth, efficient and economical disposition of accumulated wealth with maximum flexibility and minimal tax liability. 

We advise personal representatives, executors, trustees, and other fiduciaries in the administration and settlement of estates, with particular attention to creditor protection and the needs of disabled relatives.

At clients' direction, we serve as fiduciary in estate, escrow and other confidential arrangements.

We regularly handle non-standard and non-traditional situations including same-sex couples, foreign assets, non-citizen spouses, special needs beneficiaries, inherited wealth and difficult or estranged relationships.

We work with lottery winners and their professional advisors to ensure maximum privacy, flexibility and asset protection.

We advise clients on prenuptial agreements and post-nuptial agreements.
